Malignant mesothelioma claim - council worker exposed to asbestos
Mr H died in 2005, at the age of 74, of malignant mesothelioma, which was not diagnosed until after his death. We are pursuing a compensation claim for his partner.
An engineer by trade, he worked for a council in London maintaining school boiler houses (between 1990 and 1994). He was shocked by what he found - obsolete and dangerous cladding made of asbestos. He took photographs and sent them to the authorities, believing that the schools should be shut down as a safety precaution for the asbestos to be removed. He retired from this job and first developed symptoms of mesothelioma in 2004.
Our industrial disease lawyers are pursuing a mesothelioma claim on behalf of Mr H’s estate and his partner, who had lived with him for many years.
There have been considerable delays on the part of the Defendants, and we are in the process of issuing Court proceedings. Although the interval between the exposure to asbestos and the development of symptoms is shorter than normal, our medical evidence confirmed that on balance the mesothelioma was caused by the exposure to asbestos during Mr H’s employment with the London Borough.
