Malignant mesothelioma compensation claim for carpenter/joiner
Boyes Turner's specialist industrial disease lawyers are acting for the family of Mr O who died of malignant mesothelioma in 2006 aged 86. Between 1945 and 1965, he was working for a construction firm. His job included building blocks of flats in Walthamstow and flats close to the Arsenal Football ground. He worked on asbestos boards using a saw to cut the panels off the board. These were used to build cabinets and used the asbestos board where ply wood would otherwise be used. His statement included the quote: “asbestos was regarded as a miracle product offering heat and sound insulation, being easy to handle and cut and cheap to use.”
The firm he was working for was taken over by a large national construction firm, and his employment was transferred to them. We are pursuing a claim for compensation against them on behalf of his estate.
