Ex-storeman/driver awarded £5,500 in compensation after being exposed to hazardous chemicals, fumes and dust and developing a respiratory condition
Mr J was diagnosed with bronchiectasis which was caused by his exposure to chemicals, dust and fumes during his employment as a storeman/driver at Traditional Paving Limited between September 2006 and April 2008.
As a result of Mr J's exposure to substances hazardous to his health, he suffered an exacerbation of an underlying respiratory condition, namely bronchiectasis. His respiratory condition led to repeated absences from work. He suffered from shortness of breath and was coughing up discoloured sputum. Traditional Paving Limited terminated Mr J's employment in April 2008.
Our expert industrial disease lawyers settled the claim within 14 months of being instructed. The industrial disease claim was settled shortly after the issue of court proceedings in June 2009 and Mr J was awarded £5,500 in compensation.
