Mesothelioma claim for compensation - computer systems
Our industrial disease lawyers are pursuing an industrial disease claim on behalf of Mr H who was diagnosed with mesothelioma in April 2006. When he first contacted us in November 2006 he wasn’t sure of where he was exposed to asbestos. He had worked on computers all of his life, and was involved in installing and maintaining computers from the 1960s until the 1990s. We obtained statements from other witnesses who confirmed that the main frame computers themselves were housed in fire proof areas and that the walls, roof and floors all contained asbestos. The pipe work had been coated with asbestos and where it passed through walls asbestos lagging had been used.
We have obtained all of Mr H’s medical notes and records, made contact with his employers and obtained witness statements from his work colleagues. We have instructed a medical expert to prepare a report and once this has been received Court proceedings will be issued. Prior to becoming unwell Mr H used to care for his wife who had mobility problems. Now he is unwell, he is unable to do this.
