Springer v Covent Garden Market Authority
Springer v Covent Garden Market Authority
Mr Springer developed mesothelioma. He was working at Vauxhall's New Covent Garden Market during the early 1970s while the buildings were being put up. It was Mr Springer's case that he was exposed to significant quantities of asbestos dust during the build from drilling walls lagged with asbestos and cutting ceiling tiles. Although the industrial disease claim was denied by Covent Garden Market Authority the case was compromised with a payment of £70,000.
