Boyes Turner launches Berkshire Asbestos Support Group (BASG)
Boyes Turner has set up a support group for sufferers of asbestos disease and their families. The Berkshire Asbestos Support Group (BASG) provides a forum for sufferers to meet with other people in a similar situation and can put them in contact with professional organisations that may be able to assist them with benefit applications and compensation claims, as well as medical professionals.
The support group was launched at Boyes Turner’s offices in Reading on Tuesday 22nd September 2009. Over 40 people attended including a number of local professionals including Chris Davies, the respiratory physician at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading, who chaired the evening. There were other local groups that attended including MacMillan Cancer Nurses, a Coroners officer, GP's and many sufferers of asbestos disease as well as families who have lost a loved one to an asbestos related condition.
Group meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month at Reading Town Hall (Blagrave Street, behind Marks & Spencers) between 1 and 4pm. If you would like to attend, please so come along.
