"No one could wish for better than you. You were always so understanding and it helped me a lot to have those little chats on the phone". Head of the Industrial Disease team, I have wide experience in all areas of industrial disease work and am regarded as an expert by my peers. For the last eighteen years I have acted exclusively for claimants who are pursuing industrial disease claims, including those arising from mesothelioma, asbestosis, pleural plaques, dermatitis, industrial asthma, occupational stress, work related upper limb disorder, industrial/occupational deafness, vibration white finger and other occupational disease matters.
In addition to the organisation and presentation of education and training courses for both colleagues and clients, I have been interviewed on national radio and television, and been quoted in the press.
I have represented claimants in many reported cases and have represented large institutional clients at public enquiries in respect of health and safety matters.
We are running a number of workshops to assist both the public and the medical community in their understanding of the nature of asbestos related litigation, the need for early diagnosis and representation and the contribution which we can make to the costs or care.
I work exclusively for claimants from a wide range of occupations including electricians, shipyard workers, woodworkers, teachers, agricultural workers, building and construction workers, plumbers, engineers, banking employees, steel workers and printers and have acquired specialist insight into the hazards to which employees in those occupations are exposed.
I have developed a national and international client base which includes clients from the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Spain and South Africa.
Memberships include APIL and The International Bar Association. I am also on the Law Society’s specialist Industrial Disease Panel.
I qualified at Jack Thornley Solicitors in 1988 and became a Partner at Lawfords in 1996. I joined Boyes Turner to establish Thames Valley's first and only specialist Industrial Disease team. In the past year, the team has doubled in size.
When time allows I love to ski, sail, go to the theatre, read and entertain.
